Five Scoop Ice Cream Cone 40″x16″ acrylic on canvas

Nancy, a Southern California artist specializing in acrylic painting, has always loved to create things. As a child, she made things like paper dolls. But she not only made clothes for them, she also made cars for them out of paper and ice cream sticks, with plastic from bread bags for windows. As an adult, she has had lots of craft parties with her kids and other family members where she made up unique craft projects for the season or holiday. When her kids were young, she was busy designing and selling country gift items in her tole painting business, where she cut her own wood and painted her own designs. When her children were all in school, she became an academic tutor at her kids’ school, and soon after, began substitute teaching and teaching art.

After having taught art to elementary school children since 2002, she decided to start selling her own art in 2015. She took a painting class at Norco College to improve her skills and started painting in acrylic and oil. In February of 2016, her acrylic painting Buster won first place in the PVAA monthly show.

She likes to paint subjects that are fun, things that make her happy, and things that make people smile. Nancy’s art can be found at Gallery SOHO in the Montclair Place mall. She is a member of Pomona Valley Art Association and Associated Artists of the Inland Empire.
