Lynn Hendricks

I have been blessed with the opportunity to explore vast media used to create art. I found my creative connection on the beach with well-saturated sand and earth.  Inspired, I use clay, glass, and nature’s gifts to create my work. My message jars, teapots, earth spirits, and charms serve as a connection with communities and cultures. I take clay impressions of architecture when I travel locally and abroad. I share these experiences through my creations, in the spirit of positive connections of hope, love, peace, and joy. The foundation of my work begins on the potter’s wheel. These forms are altered and decorated with sprigs, slip trails, Mishima, carving, wax resist, stains, oxides, colored engobes, glazes, and inks. I fire my pottery using different firing techniques:  raku, pit fire, oxidation or reduction to get desired effects. I spend time with each piece, and enhance with twigs, glass beads, waxed linen cord, vintage buttons, beads, travel tokens or coins. Creating art is a joy, sharing is the reason for the creation.
