From a young age, Esperanza used art to express herself when words failed: drawing inspiration from nature; the horror genre; and, pop culture. She uses various media, such as watercolor, ink, and digital painting. This creative process

allows her to create artwork that illustrates her curious imagination. For Esperanza, art was an opportunity for exploration of the self and to escape the mundane.
