Liza Carillo

I am a watercolor artist based in Claremont, California. I enjoy painting different subjects, such as landscapes, portraits, florals, and even waterscapes.

I am relatively new to watercolor, having picked it up only after retirement from an academic career. I had no previous formal training in the Fine Arts. Since then, however, I have become passionate about the watercolor medium’s particular ability to help the artist along while still allowing for some control over a painting. When combined with artistry, it can be truly expressive.

To learn how to paint with watercolor, I have attended numerous workshops and courses with several prominent national and international artists.

To further enhance my experience in art, I maintain active membership in a few art associations, including among them, the Pomona Valley Art Association, Mid-Valley Arts League, Northwest Watercolor Society, and Watercolor West.
